Bio: My diabetes diagnosis occurred in Sept, 1945, a few days after my 6'th birthday. I have lived a good life for 69 years with type 1 diabetes, and I have very good health. Except for some mild nerve damage, I do not have any diabetes related complications. I married Anita, my wonderful wife in 1964. We celebrated our Golden Anniversary in May, 2014. My two sons and two grandchildren do not have diabetes, and none of my relatives have type 1. After retiring from teaching, my favorite hobby is communicating with my friends on the diabetes websites, and on Facebook. Meeting some of those friends at the Friends For Life Conference in July, 2013, was a wonderful experience!
